Singarakonda
1) Singarakonda is a spiritual sopt and piligrim center located about 6 Km North of Addanki in the Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh in India.
2) Singarakonda is famous for two reasons. One of the reasons is that Lord Hanuman is located on the bank of Bhavanasi lake at the bottom of the hill Singarakonda and the second reason is that there is one Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple is located on the hilltop. The Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple on top of the hill. This temple of the top of the hill said to have built in 14th Century A.D as per the available literature. It was built and developed by King Devarayalu.
3) SIngarakonda Tirunalla (local festival) is celebrated each year in the Month of March on the day of Holi and is one of the famous festivals where people from all sections across the nearest districts come and participate. In 2010, Tirunalla falls on 28th, February. Electrically decorated Prabha's are very famous on this occasion.
4) Singarakonda is located very near to Addanki mandal. It is 290 km from Hyderabad, 110 km from Vijayawada, 36 km from Ongole and 5 km from Addanki. Lots of travelling ways can be found from Addanki to Singarakonda. The nearest Airport is Vijayawada. Nearest Bus station is Addanki. Buses from Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Ongole to Addanki are available. Nearest Railway station is Ongole. All the express trains and passenger trains going from Hyderabad & Vijayawada to Chennai stop at Ongole.

The Story Behind the Name "Addanki"
1) The name Addanki has arrived by adding the two names like "adda+anki". Adda was the name of a man who belongs to the cast chenchu and anki is the name of a woman. She belonged to eruka cast. They were lovers.
2) Addanki is very famous for bricks. The Gundlakamma river flows through this town.
3) There is another version for the origin of the Name There is one adda in Addanki, where Reddy kings use to gather for confidential meetings to fight against british empire. Adda and King make the name Addanki. Hence "Addanki".
4) Sri Prakasam Junior College is situated in Addanki with a great concern in Andhra Pradesh, One of the Best College in Andhra Pradesh, all the Lecturers are worked towards the dedication and commitment, One of the Principal has got the very Good name in that College is names Rajendra Prasad, Gov't Boys high school and Gov't Girls High School is situated in Addanki.
5) All these private Colleges are started recently only, and one the most named College is Sri Katta Rama Koteswara Rao (KRK) Degree Collete, situated in Singara Konda, 5km distance from Addanki, all the Graduates are here from Addanki Only, It has the good name in Nagarjuna University range, that is the special of Addanki.
